RAUL REKOW & KARL PERAZZO (SANTANA) BRISBANE CLINIC REPORT

Raul and Karl's percussion clinic at our Fortitude Valley store on Wednesday March 23 was a truly amazing and special event. Both guys were humble, charismatic and down to earth. They entertained the capacity crowd from the get go with their witty charm and were full of humour all night - something everyone really enjoyed with many a laugh to be had!
The dynamic duo played through an array of afro-cuban rhythms marvelling us with their skill, musicianship, technicality and great sense of pocket groove. A lot of stories where told in the question and answer period following their performance. They gave the crowd valuable insight into what it's like being a full time touring musician in a successful band plus the importance of listening to and playing all styles of music and not limiting yourself to one genre - especially if you want work!
Raul and Karl then helped us draw prizes from Latin Percussion which culminated in an LP Aspire djembe being given away to a lucky punter! A meet n' greet and autograph session ensued with many a satisfied attendee having their picture taken with the percussion legends.
All in all - it was a fantastic night with a great buzz in the room. Raul and Karl really enjoyed themselves and so too did everyone too!
